Professor Wierman and Minghong Lin Receive the IEEE International Conference Best Paper Award

Adam Wierman, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, and graduate student Minghong Lin have received the Best Paper award at the IEEE International Conference on Computer Communications (INFOCOM) for their paper "Dynamic right-sizing for power-proportional data centers." The paper provides a novel algorithm for dynamically adjusting the number of active servers in a data center to optimally trade of energy consumption with delay. [Read the Paper]
